About the position

The GM - Operations, Supply Chain & Product Support role at Komatsu involves planning, developing, and implementing operational management strategies to achieve organizational performance goals within budget. The position requires managing direct reports, liaising with various departments, and ensuring customer satisfaction while optimizing supply chain processes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop and implement strategy of operational management to achieve organizational performance plans within agreed budgets.
  • Develop and maintain systems, policies, and procedures for managing Crushing Services.
  • Manage and develop direct reporting staff.
  • Liaise with technical product support, engineering, and advise various departments on technical issues and product enhancements.
  • Conduct market research and lead cross-functional teams to ensure market-driven product direction is achieved.
  • Manage component and machine delivery schedules with applicable manufacturing locations.
  • Oversee logistics team to ensure deliveries meet customer expectations and identify alternative delivery methods.
  • Assist Engineering with mechanical design reviews and approvals of components and drawings.
  • Assist inventory council with inventory planning and overall market strategies.
  • Establish and evaluate key performance indicators (KPI's).
  • Evaluate and develop processes and procedures for customer inquiries and order activity.
  • Facilitate communications between the organization and customers to deliver products and services according to company plans.
  • Analyze trends in customer satisfaction to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop processes to measure and evaluate customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement processes to resolve customer issues while balancing organizational needs.
  • Manage Customer Service team staffing including recruitment, supervision, development, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate with GM Crushing Products and Sales in developing pricing strategies for global sales.
  • Plan, execute, and finalize Supply Chain strategies for spend across the organization.
  • Manage and evaluate performance of existing supply base and develop new suppliers.
  • Analyze trends in company spend and inventory control to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Supply Chain policies and procedures.
  • Direct and manage sourcing strategies from beginning to end.
  • Establish and maintain regular communications with management regarding Supply Chain activities.
  • Create, implement, manage, and revise strategic and tactical plans to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage leadership team and support High-Performance Organization philosophy.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Direct activities related to quality systems and product/process quality compliance.
  • Interact with various departments to optimize operations.
  • Create a cohesive environment for employee interaction and concern resolution.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to develop and implement commodity strategies.
  • Develop budgets, review expenses, and monitor inventory to increase profitability.
  • Direct the establishment of cycle counts and inventory management plans.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in engineering or business; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Prior technical sales management experience with the ability to manage a business unit effectively.
  • Thorough product understanding relative to technical terminology and industry practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and build strong relationships.
  • Ability to influence and deliver results through people.
  • Relevant safety training to access customer sites.
  • Relevant design and manufacturing experience for evaluations and engineering decision-making.
  • Ability to set and manage multiple priorities and achieve company goals independently.
  • Ability to interpret Computer Aided Designs and production drawings.
