The GME Reimbursement & Data Analyst at the University of California Irvine Health plays a crucial role in the revenue cycle workflow within the healthcare reimbursement sector. In this position, the analyst will be responsible for executing the revenue cycle workflow, which includes analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and presenting findings to stakeholders. The analyst will also collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and third-party payer regulations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as the analyst will need to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely to both clinical and administrative staff. The GME Reimbursement & Data Analyst will also be involved in budgeting and forecasting, requiring a thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting as it pertains to healthcare reimbursement. The ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage projects from inception to completion is critical for success in this role. The analyst will be expected to utilize advanced data management and analysis skills to support the financial operations of the medical education department.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the revenue cycle workflow independently with a full understanding of healthcare reimbursement processes.
  • Complete complex projects and tasks at all levels of scope and complexity.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports to capture revenue effectively.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and third-party payer regulations.
  • Prepare compelling and informative reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare reimbursement revenue cycle workflow.
  • Strong skills in data management and analysis.
  • Ability to manage projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial analysis, research, and reporting in healthcare settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration on complex projects.
  • Strong communication skills to interpret and convey complex clinical finance information.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts payable, budgeting, forecasting, general ledger, or related fields.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong knowledge of relevant department, medical center, and UC policies.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and third-party payer regulations.
  • Ability to perform functions in word processing and spreadsheet software.
