About the position

The General Manager in Training (GMIT) at CAVA is a leadership role designed for individuals eager to develop their management skills and operational expertise within a restaurant setting. This position focuses on mastering competency-based leadership and operational skills to ensure exceptional guest experiences while supporting the General Manager in various administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Management Team and Team Members to ensure guests receive exceptional experiences.
• Deliver memorable guest experiences and coach other Managers on recruiting, orientation, training, and performance evaluations of Team Members and Supervisors.
• Ensure team members and Management team are trained properly using CAVA tools.
• Provide performance feedback and recognition to Team Members consistently.
• Assist and learn from the General Manager to execute administrative duties including P&L, budgets, and cost controls regarding food, beverage, and labor goals.

Requirements

• Proven track record of coaching and developing team members.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to bend and reach overhead often.
• Possess dexterity to handle tongs, pots/pans, and other equipment.
• Comfortable working in temperatures ranging from hot to cold.
• Comfortable working near open flames.
• Ability to work in tight spaces.
• Maintain near constant communication with multiple people.
• Close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision is required.
• Ability to sit, squat, and kneel occasionally.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
