About the position

The General Manager in Training (GMIT) position at CAVA is designed for individuals looking to enhance their leadership skills and operational expertise within a restaurant environment. This role focuses on mastering competency-based leadership and operational skills to ensure exceptional guest experiences while supporting the General Manager in various administrative duties. The GMIT will play a crucial role in team development and performance management, contributing to the overall success of the restaurant.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Management Team and Team Members to ensure guests receive exceptional experiences.
  • Deliver memorable guest experiences and coach Managers on recruiting, orientation, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure team members and Management team are trained properly using CAVA tools.
  • Provide performance feedback and recognition to Team Members consistently.
  • Assist and learn from the General Manager in executing administrative duties including P&L, budgets, and cost controls.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of coaching and developing team members.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend and reach overhead often.
  • Possess dexterity to handle tongs, pots/pans, and other equipment.
  • Comfortable working in temperatures ranging from hot to cold.

  • Experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces and maintain constant communication with multiple people.
