About the position
The General Manager in Training (GMIT) at CAVA is a leadership role designed for individuals eager to develop their management skills within a restaurant environment. This position focuses on mastering operational and leadership competencies to ensure exceptional guest experiences while supporting the General Manager in various administrative duties. The GMIT will play a crucial role in team development, performance feedback, and operational excellence, contributing to the overall success of the restaurant.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Management Team and Team Members to ensure guests receive exceptional experiences.
- Deliver memorable guest experiences and coach other Managers on recruiting, orientation, training, and performance evaluations of Team Members and Supervisors.
- Ensure team members and Management team are trained properly using CAVA tools.
- Provide performance feedback and recognition to Team Members consistently.
- Assist and learn from the General Manager to execute administrative duties including P&L, budgets, and cost controls regarding food, beverage, and labor goals.
Requirements
- Proven track record of coaching and developing team members.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend and reach overhead often.
- Possess dexterity to handle tongs, pots/pans, and other equipment.
- Comfortable working in temperatures ranging from hot to cold and near open flames.
