About the position

The Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) Hardware Responsible Engineer at Blue Origin plays a crucial role in the In-Space Systems business unit, focusing on the development and integration of GN&C hardware for space vehicles. This position involves collaboration with various engineering teams to ensure hardware components meet performance requirements and contribute to the advancement of space infrastructure and mobility on-orbit.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and coordination of resources necessary to successfully procure, accept and integrate GNC components to support the baseline design.
  • Develop hardware, firmware and software product solutions to contribute towards future vehicle designs.
  • Provide input and direction on state-of-the-art hardware and firmware technologies for vertical integration initiatives.
  • Support verification and testing, ensuring the GN&C components and subsystem complies with its requirements.
  • Collaborate on the implementation of the software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing, on-vehicle functional testing and flight-testing for multiple vehicles.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to work with test, flight and safety critical hardware.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience with spacecraft/satellite hardware development and/or execution, hardware ownership (responsible engineer), or hardware qualification and/or acceptance testing.
  • B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area.
  • Experience with analytical and scripting tools: Matlab, LabView, Python, C++.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards and technical requirements.
  • Ability to perform data analysis and reduction and present technical information in a clear and compelling visual format.
