About the position

The Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) Hardware Responsible Engineer at Blue Origin plays a crucial role in the In-Space Systems business unit, focusing on the development and integration of GN&C hardware for space vehicles. This position involves collaboration with various engineering teams to ensure that hardware components meet performance requirements and are successfully integrated into vehicle designs. The role also includes troubleshooting and resolving hardware-related issues in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and coordination of resources necessary to successfully procure, accept and integrate GNC components to support the baseline design.
• Develop hardware, firmware and software product solutions to contribute towards future vehicle designs.
• Provide input and direction on state-of-the-art hardware and firmware technologies for vertical integration initiatives.
• Support verification and testing, ensuring the GN&C components and subsystem comply with its requirements.
• Collaborate on the implementation of software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing, on-vehicle functional testing, and flight-testing for multiple vehicles.

Requirements

• Proven ability to work with test, flight and safety critical hardware.
• Minimum 7 years' experience with spacecraft/satellite hardware development and/or execution, hardware ownership (responsible engineer), or hardware qualification and/or acceptance testing.
• B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area.
• Experience with analytical and scripting tools: Matlab, LabView, Python, C++.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards and technical requirements.
• Ability to perform data analysis and reduction and present technical information in a clear and compelling visual format.
