About the position

As a Senior Software Engineer at Capital One, you will be part of a dynamic and innovative team focused on back-end development using Golang and AWS. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about technology and enjoy solving complex business problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, and inclusive environment. You will have the opportunity to work on the modernization of Capital One's Card Core Platform, which involves building serverless, highly resilient microservices and front-edge features that enhance real-time intelligent experiences for our premium customers. The team you will join is dedicated to pioneering solutions for the U.S. credit card sector, utilizing the latest serverless patterns and application architectures on the Gen3 cloud. Your work will involve collaborating with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a variety of full-stack development tools and technologies. You will also be expected to share your enthusiasm for technology trends, mentor fellow engineers, and engage with both internal and external technology communities. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, as well as your experience with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases. Additionally, you will utilize container orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes, along with a variety of AWS tools and services to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans financially.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies.
  • Share passion for staying updated on tech trends and experimenting with new technologies.
  • Participate in internal and external technology communities and mentor other engineering community members.
  • Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
  • Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala.
  • Work with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
  • Use container orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Leverage a variety of AWS tools and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply).
  • 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js.
  • 1+ years of experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, etc.
