Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively use heavy equipment to complete tasks as assigned
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment and comply with all safety rules and procedures
- Perform or assist in mechanical repairs on heavy equipment
- Track scheduled maintenance of equipment and notify the supervisor if maintenance is past due
- Fill out performance records to report problems with equipment
- Clean, lubricate, and perform regular safety checks on equipment
- Train new team members in the safe operation of heavy equipment and fill out training checklists
- Ensure sites are kept clean and safe
- Work a rotating schedule of nights and days as required
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Prior experience operating similar heavy equipment
- Diesel mechanic degree or higher education preferred
- Able to read, write, and possess basic math and science skills to complete daily reporting requirements
- Reliable, consistent work history
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow orders, especially under pressure
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and work independently
- A positive outlook and a willingness to learn
