About the position

The Golf Cart Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that all golf carts are maintained in a safe and efficient working condition. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance to support the operations of the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort.

Responsibilities

• Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to locate cause of trouble
• Raise vehicle with hydraulic jack or hoist to gain access to mechanical units
• Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
• Remove units such as engine, transmission, or differential
• Examine form and textures of parts to detect imperfections
• Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear
• Repair or replace parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings
• Rewire ignition system, lights, and instrument panel
• Install special functional and structural parts and devices
• Replace and adjust headlights, and install and repair accessories such as mirrors and tires
• Lubricate and clean parts
• Start devices to test performance
• Keep daily log to track repairs
• Set up and operate drill press, grinder, torches, welder and other metal working tools
• Keep a preventive maintenance program on golf carts

Requirements

• Six months to one year of related experience and/or training
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Valid driver's license to drive company golf carts
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
• Pass a background check and drug test
