Golf Shop Sales Clerk

About the position

The Golf Shop Sales Clerk at Marriott International is responsible for providing excellent customer service in the retail environment of the golf shop. This role involves assisting customers, managing merchandise displays, processing transactions, and ensuring the shop is well-maintained and secure. The clerk plays a key role in enhancing the guest experience by anticipating needs and maintaining a professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter the store and assist them in locating merchandise.
• Display merchandise in an organized and visually appealing manner.
• Restock items as necessary and check expiration dates, discarding expired items.
• Maintain a clean and orderly stockroom.
• Complete customer purchases, process all types of payments, and handle returns, refunds, and exchanges.
• Verify customer identification when required.
• Maintain appropriate cash levels in the cash drawer and ensure all money and receipts are accounted for.
• Follow opening and closing checklists to secure the store and monitor customer activity to prevent loss due to theft or damage.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring a neat and professional appearance.
• Anticipate and respond to guest service needs with genuine appreciation and assistance for individuals with disabilities.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with others and answer phones using proper protocol.
• Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others.
• Meet quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• No prior related work experience is required.
• No supervisory experience is required.
