About the position

The Goodwill Store Associate is responsible for assisting in the overall operations of the retail store under the supervision of the Store Manager. This part-time position involves receiving and processing donations, completing sales transactions, maintaining store cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service to ensure a welcoming environment for shoppers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Sort, price, and display quality merchandise for sale in the store.
• Meet quality and quantity production standards to maximize sales revenue.
• Properly discard unsellable merchandise to appropriate containers.
• Maximize used goods processing through sorting, preparing, and pricing items for sale.
• Meet or exceed production goals consistently.
• Follow store rotation schedule by completing pulls at scheduled times.
• Ensure quality customer service is provided to all shoppers, donors, and employees.
• Assist in maintaining sales floor appearance and cleanliness.
• Assist shoppers on the sales floor in locating and selecting merchandise.
• Complete sales transactions on the POS system accurately and timely.
• Accept donations from donors and assist in carrying items into the store.
• Demonstrate good judgment at cash wrap to protect Agency assets.
• Assist in maintaining store and surrounding premises to keep clean and free of safety hazards.
• Report observations or suspicions of theft and other wrongdoing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred, not required.
• One to three months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and communicate with customers.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in retail or customer service environments.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks and electric pallet jacks.
