About the position

The Google AI External Communications Manager will be a key member of the Global Communications & Public Affairs team, responsible for enhancing the public's understanding of Google's AI products and services. This role involves creating and executing communication strategies, engaging with media, and developing materials that effectively convey Google's AI initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in public relations and a deep understanding of the AI industry, enabling them to manage multiple projects and communicate complex issues clearly and creatively.

Responsibilities

• Engage with media to increase public knowledge of Google's AI products and services.
• Create and execute sustained AI campaigns that support key objectives throughout the year.
• Develop an ambitious external communications plan that tells the cross-Google AI story.
• Facilitate meaningful engagements with AI reporters and editorial teams to enhance knowledge of Google's AI efforts.
• Collaborate with teams across Google to discover and tell compelling stories about AI using various channels.
• Handle reactive media inquiries and maintain tracking and measurement of media coverage.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communications.
• Experience in the AI industry with AI models and AI developer ecosystems.
