About the position

The Cloud Engineer position at SAIC involves supporting the National Intelligence Community's multi-cloud initiative, focusing on digital modernization programs. The role requires advising government stakeholders on cloud strategies, implementing and maintaining cloud environments, and ensuring effective cloud solutions for mission users. The engineer will work closely with various cloud service providers and contribute to the development of best practices for cloud deployment and infrastructure maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Advising Government stakeholders on multi-cloud, multi-agency collaborative activities that require navigating agency specific policy requirements
  • Providing cloud strategy services that cover all security fabrics to assist with the relocation of business applications, data, and workloads
  • Serving as a cloud agnostic evangelist and educating the Government customer on cloud services
  • Defining and documenting best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
  • Reviewing mission system requirements and facilitating recommendations for Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Task Order Proposal Requests (TOPRs)
  • Providing advisory services for the discovery, adoption, and understanding of new and existing CSP service offerings
  • Advising the Government on application performance, uptime, and scale best practices
  • Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into cloud solutions

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree or additional hands-on experience in lieu of degree
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a cloud and/or hybrid environment
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services
  • Experience in developing and deploying cloud solutions to AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, or OCI
  • Experience in building and deploying systems in the cloud using CI/CD frameworks and infrastructure automation
  • Experience in large-scale data architecture, data modeling, database design, and information systems implementation
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team
  • Certifications in Azure, AWS, OCI, GCP, or IBM

  • Strong analysis and quality assessment skills
  • Experience with various Linux and Microsoft Windows OS distributions
  • Experience with SQL and databases
  • Experience migrating custom built and enterprise apps to and from on-prem to cloud
  • Experience debugging performance and technical issues
