About the position

As a Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer at Cerebra Consulting Inc, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to a multi-year data analytics modernization roadmap for the bank. This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly on the Google BigQuery platform and other Google Cloud Platform services, integrating new data sources and modeling data up to the serving layer. You will be part of a transformative program aimed at rethinking reporting and analytics through cloud technology, collaborating with various business groups to understand their requirements and design effective Google Cloud Platform architecture. Your responsibilities will include working on a large-scale data transformation program with the goal of establishing a scalable, efficient, and future-proof data and analytics platform. You will develop and implement cloud strategies, best practices, and standards to ensure effective cloud utilization. Additionally, you will work with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform. Providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members will also be a key aspect of your role, helping to develop their skills and expertise in Google Cloud technologies. Staying current with the latest Google Cloud Platform technologies, trends, and best practices will be essential to assess their applicability to client solutions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to multi-year data analytics modernization roadmap for the bank.
• Work on the Google BigQuery platform and other Google Cloud Platform services to integrate new data sources and model data.
• Collaborate with different business groups to understand their requirements and design Google Cloud Platform architecture.
• Develop and implement cloud strategies, best practices, and standards for efficient cloud utilization.
• Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members in Google Cloud Platform.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Google Cloud Platform technologies and assess their applicability to client solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT.
• Master's degree in Data Analytics, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems (preferred).
• Strong understanding of data fundamentals and data engineering.
• Implementation experience with Google Cloud Platform's Data Storage and Processing services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Bigtable, Dataform, Data Fusion, Cloud Spanner, and Cloud SQL.
• Programmatic experience with SQL, Python, and Apache Spark.
• 5-7 years of professional experience in building data engineering capabilities, with at least 5 years in Google Cloud Platform.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with legacy data warehouses (SQL Server or any Relational Data Warehouse platform).
• Experience with a testing framework.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools like PowerBI and/or Looker.
• Experience in complex migrations from legacy data warehousing solutions to Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience in building real-time ingestion and processing frameworks on Google Cloud Platform.
• Multi-cloud and hybrid cloud experience.
• Any cloud certification, preferably Google Cloud Platform Certifications.
• Experience working in the Financial and Banking Industry.
