About the position

The Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer role is a senior-level position focused on consulting for complex software engineering initiatives, analyzing and resolving multifaceted challenges, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, and collaborating strategically with client personnel to achieve project goals. This position requires extensive experience in software engineering and cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud, to deliver scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise on large-scale software engineering projects with significant impact.
• Tackle complex, multi-faceted software engineering problems requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Contribute to resolving intricate situations by understanding and applying relevant functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Work closely with client personnel to achieve project goals.

Requirements

• 5+ years in Software Engineering or equivalent experience through work, consulting, training, military service, or education.
• 7+ years of experience in designing and implementing data frameworks, with hands-on experience in building scalable data platforms on cloud platforms.
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform and its frameworks, including BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Google Dataplex, Dataproc, Dataflow, and Google API offerings.
• Proven track record of delivering products using cloud services and architectures at scale.
• Experience in building scalable data platforms on Data Lake/Hadoop infrastructure.
• Lead complex technology buildouts and migrations to Google platforms.
• Build and enable cloud infrastructure, automate orchestration of Google Cloud Platform platforms, design and deploy service enablement solutions, and engineer patterns and landing zones for cloud workloads.
• Hands-on experience with DevSecOps practices and SDLC tooling, including CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, Jenkins, Cucumber, Harness).
