About the position

The Google Cloud Platform DevOps & Kubernetes Engineer role involves working on-site in Berkley Heights, NJ, focusing on the design, build, and management of Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters. The position requires expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and related technologies, with a strong emphasis on automation, process management, and cloud migration projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage GKE clusters including proxy management, failover, blue-green deployment, and application failover.
• Automate infrastructure and application deployment using Terraform scripting.
• Manage networking aspects of GCP including VPC concepts, proxy settings, routing tables, VPC peering, and load balancing.
• Utilize Google Cloud SQL for database management and GCS Bucket for storage solutions.
• Implement release management, incident management, and production troubleshooting processes.
• Document processes and manage ITSA processes effectively.
• Work on migration projects from on-premises to Google Cloud Platform.

Requirements

• Google Cloud Professional Architect or Google Cloud Platform Associate Cloud Engineer certification required.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification required.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform DevOps, Docker, and Jenkins.
• Proficiency in Terraform scripting for infrastructure and application deployment.
• Experience with GKE cluster management and related deployment strategies.
• Knowledge of GCP networking, including VPC, proxy settings, and load balancing.
• Familiarity with database management using Google Cloud SQL and storage using GCS Bucket.
• Experience with version control systems like Git/GitHub and ticketing tools like Service Now.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Ansible Tower and Cloud Build for deployment.
• Familiarity with protocols and data migration techniques such as TCP/sFTP.
• Experience with work item management tools like JIRA.
