About the position

The Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Platform Engineer will lead complex cloud technology initiatives with a significant impact across the organization. This role involves automating the provisioning of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and developing standards and best practices for engineering large-scale technology solutions. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to design, optimize, and document the engineering aspects of the cloud platform, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technology Cloud initiatives with broad impact.
• Act as a key contributor in automating the provisioning of Cloud Infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Develop standards and best practices for engineering and large-scale technology solutions.
• Design, optimize, and document the engineering aspects of the Cloud platform.
• Share understanding of industry best practices and influence the Cloud technology team to meet deliverables.
• Review and analyze complex technology solutions in Cloud for strategic business objectives.
• Collaborate with key technical experts and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues.
• Build and enable Cloud infrastructure for Google Cloud Platform for Wells Fargo Enterprise.
• Work in a globally distributed team to provide innovative Cloud-centric solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Team and vendors to develop and deploy Cloud services.
• Gather and analyze data to diagnose the root cause of Cloud issues and implement solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent.
• 3+ years working with Google Cloud Platform and proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with IaC tools Terraform and GitHub.
• Strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform networking services.
• Knowledge of Cloud service offerings such as Data, Analytics, AI/ML on Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with at least three key services: Big Query, Composer, Vertex AI, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security, and compliance standards.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools for network provisioning.

Nice-to-haves

• Cloud certification on Google Cloud Platform.
• Exposure to Cloud governance and logging/monitoring tools.
• Experience with Agile, CI/CD, DevOps concepts and SRE principles.
• Proficient in container-based solution services and Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Experience in scripting (Shell, Python).
• Good understanding of networking, firewalls, load balancing concepts.
