About the position

The Google Cloud Senior DevSecOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, operating, and maintaining the Google Cloud platform. This role combines cloud engineering and operations expertise to ensure the cloud environment operates efficiently and securely. The engineer will manage day-to-day operations, support, and maintenance of the cloud infrastructure, requiring a strong understanding of cloud technologies and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and manage robust, secure, scalable, highly available, and dynamic solutions on Google Cloud to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with other Engineers, Developers, DBAs, and System Administrators when designing new or improving the cloud solution.
  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure as code (IAC) and SRE principles using tools like Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
  • Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
  • Proactively monitor the health of cloud infrastructure, responding to incidents, and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Conduct system performance analysis and optimize for scalability and efficiency.
  • Automate regular operational tasks and processes to reduce the risk of human error and increase efficiency.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the setup and maintenance of cloud infrastructure.
  • Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery, creating preventative measures to deploy in the enterprise.
  • Keep abreast of new GCP services and features that could enhance functionality or reduce costs.
  • Manage and maintain monitoring solutions to provide visibility into performance and operational health.
  • Implement industry cloud best practices for security, performance, cost, & resiliency in all aspects of design & implementation.
  • Experience building GCP solutions using container orchestration and management services such as EKS, ECR.
  • Experience providing Tier II and Tier III operational support while managing help desk tickets.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Selenium, and others.
  • Hands-on experience with setting up, developing, configuring and maintaining DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, BASH, SQL, NoSQL, etc.
  • Continuously assess, onboard, and enable new FedRAMP cloud services using security best practices for IAM and networking.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and 8 years of experience, or 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a public Trust clearance.
  • Proven background working in cloud environments with experience and knowledge in Agile methodologies including Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience with Agile collaboration tools such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, Artifactory).
  • Experience with containerization and container management with Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Experience with PowerShell or Bash Scripting.
  • Experience with security automation tools such as SAST and DAST.
  • Familiarity with cyber tools like Aviatrix, Orca, Splunk, Qmulous, STIG scanner.
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of Git, branching strategies, GitFlow and/or GitHub Flow.
  • Understanding of cloud high availability and scalability best practices and architectures.
