About the position

The Google Data Center Finance Manager for Google Public Sector plays a crucial role in ensuring sound financial decisions are made within the organization. This position involves performing Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and Strategic Finance duties to support the Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) business. The manager will oversee the Profit and Loss (P&L) management, reporting performance metrics, and collaborating with various teams to align business goals with actual performance. The role emphasizes data-driven decision-making and requires strong communication skills to provide insights to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and Strategic Finance duties to support the growing Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) business within Google Public Sector.
  • Manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) for Google Public Sector GDC, including reporting performance-to-plan for Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Own and deliver the long-range plan (LRP), annual operating plan (AOP), and monthly P&L forecasting and reporting process for Google Public Sector GDC.
  • Understand key business and cost drivers of GDC products by collaborating with senior leadership across Google Public Sector, Product, and Cloud Finance teams.
  • Collaborate with Cloud FP&A to ensure business and cost goals align with actual performance while balancing long-term growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience working with data sets using SQL or another programming/scripting language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in high data volume environments.
  • Experience in partnering with technical, business, and operations stakeholders.
  • Understanding of cloud network infrastructure, planning, capacity planning, and system architecture.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with senior management teams.
  • US Government security clearance.
