Google Fiber Technician

About the position

The Google Fiber Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and customer experience of high-speed Internet and voice services. This role involves working both inside and outside of customer homes, ensuring that services are properly installed and configured while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install Customer Premises Equipment such as ONTs, Routers, and Switches.
• Connect Fiber Optic jumpers and run or reuse COAX or CAT5/CAT6 wiring.
• Configure networks and verify services provided to customers.
• Educate customers on the services installed and their usage.

Requirements

• Valid state driver's license and non-negligent driving record.
• Ability to perform job activities in all weather conditions, including extreme heat/cold, rain, and snow.
• Capable of carrying, handling, and climbing 24ft ladders.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and independently with little supervision.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience configuring Routers and Home Networks.
• Telecom/Low-Voltage Installation Experience with CAT5/CAT6 and/or COAX.
• Working knowledge of basic power and hand tools.
• Basic knowledge of home construction.
• Customer service experience.
