About the position

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) will play a crucial role in driving product sellout within an assigned territory that encompasses over 50 carrier and retail stores. This position requires a proactive approach to cultivating relationships with retail partners and field leadership, collaborating to implement strategic initiatives aimed at increasing sales and market share for brand products. The TSM will develop a comprehensive strategy for training both direct and indirect customer sales, ensuring that store associates are well-informed and engaged with the products. This includes coordinating and leading training events, which can be conducted in various formats such as one-on-one sessions, group trainings, and virtual events. In this role, the TSM will be responsible for driving increased sell-through and market share for each store within the designated territory. This will involve a comprehensive approach that includes direct and indirect customer sales, associate training, and influencing store personnel at all levels. Building strong relationships with retail partners is essential, as the TSM will share knowledge through training initiatives designed to foster brand advocacy. This may include organizing group meetings, incentives, lunch and learns, and other strategic activities to help drive sales. The TSM will also be tasked with completing data collection for insights and daily activities using Mosaic systems. This includes providing market-level reporting that encompasses market intelligence, competitive activity, and feedback on current retail market conditions. Training and influencing retail sales associates will be a key responsibility, as the TSM will engage store sales associates and customers on product features and benefits, while also maintaining a highly visible presence in designated retail stores. Ensuring that product displays are consistent with retailer planogram guidelines and that devices are properly maintained will also be part of the role. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Drive increased sell through and market share for each store within the designated territory through a comprehensive approach including direct and indirect customer sales, associate training, and influencing store personnel at all levels
  • Build relationships and interact with retail partners to share knowledge through training to build brand advocacy, including group meetings, incentives, lunch & learns, virtual trainings and other strategic activities to help drive sales
  • Complete data collection for insights and daily activities using Mosaic systems, providing market level reporting including market intelligence, competitive activity, and feedback on current retail market conditions
  • Train and influence retail sales associates, engaging store sales associates and customers on products and devices, while building and maintaining relationships inside the store and virtually
  • Maintain a highly visible and consistent presence in designated retail stores within assigned territory
  • Ensure product display in-store is consistent with Retailer's planogram guidelines and that devices are cleaned and functioning properly (Level 1 Merchandising)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5 - 8+ years combined sales and/or retail sales experience preferred with strong relative experience in retail business and/or wireless
  • 3+ years' supervisor/management experience managing direct reports in a retail and/or retail sales field, with full authority for personnel actions
  • Ability to schedule/lead/record virtual training and virtual events with minimal support and have adequate space to accommodate
  • Ability to coordinate and lead formal/informal training events on product features and benefits within store, market, and virtually
  • Proven ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity
  • Proven experience managing and tracking performance against assigned directives and KPIs
  • Proven experience collecting and reporting information on competitive product and service offerings to management
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with retail partner store and regional field leadership to further collaborate on how best to drive incremental sell through for the brand
  • Ability to work directly with store management and store team members in a sales-driven retail environment to identify and execute on opportunities to increase advocacy and sell out of products
  • Ability to prioritize store visits during optimal store-traffic periods to maximize impact and meet training objectives
  • Knowledgeable in assisting in the analysis of sales and market/territory data used to provide consultation and/or correction for under-performing stores
  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and prioritization of tasks
  • Superior interpersonal skills to work closely with other team members, sales associates, retail sales management, and clients
  • Excellent judgment, effective problem-resolution skills, and the ability to balance multiple (and often conflicting) demands
  • Excellent written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills
