About the position

The Governance & Control Analyst II is a pivotal role within TD Bank's Governance & Control team, primarily responsible for conducting Quality Assurance (QA) reviews within Commercial Loan Operations and Servicing. This position is designed to enhance the processes managed by Core Operations QA Methodology. The analyst will work closely with Control Framework partners and Operations Leadership to ensure that QA reviews are thorough and effective. The role involves performing complex QA reviews, verifying the accuracy of team outputs, and evaluating materials against established quality control models to identify any irregularities. The analyst will leverage their understanding of business line processes and typical practices to assess the quality of work and may provide recommendations for process improvements based on their evaluations. In addition to QA reviews, the Governance & Control Analyst II will provide comprehensive governance and control-related support, including research, evaluation, testing, reporting, and analytical assistance for their assigned areas. This professional role requires a solid conceptual understanding of governance, risk, and control procedures, as well as the ability to analyze potential solutions and implement functional programs. The analyst will be accountable for their work and will coordinate processes across related teams, ensuring that assigned initiatives and projects are delivered effectively with some guidance from management. The position demands a proactive approach to identifying and managing risks, adhering to internal policies and regulatory guidelines, and maintaining a culture of risk management. The analyst will also be involved in developing business metrics and reporting to support decision-making processes, while contributing to a positive team environment and enhancing their knowledge in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct QA reviews within Commercial Loan Operations and Servicing.
  • Collaborate with Control Framework partners and Operations Leadership.
  • Perform complex QA reviews and verify the accuracy of team outputs.
  • Evaluate materials against quality control models to detect irregularities.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements based on evaluations.
  • Provide governance and control-related research, evaluation, testing, and reporting support.
  • Develop and prepare business metrics and reporting in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Identify issues and control deficiencies to increase standardization of solutions and processes.
  • Support the implementation of policies and procedures across multiple functional areas.
  • Participate in team activities and contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in governance, risk, and control procedures.
  • Fundamental knowledge of governance, risk, and control strategies.
  • Proficiency in analytical software tools and data analysis methods.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
