Crowell & Moring LLP, a global Am Law 100 law firm, seeks a highly qualified Associate to join its Government Contracts practice group, working specifically with the cost accounting advisory and litigation area of the practice, from its Washington, DC office.

Responsibilities

  • Handle government contract cost accounting and pricing matters.
  • Counsel clients on compliance with FAR Part 31 and Cost Accounting Standards.
  • Assist with responses to DCAA/DCMA audit reports and notices of potential CAS noncompliance.
  • Engage in pre-COFD dispute resolution of cost accounting matters.
  • Represent contractors in appeals at the ASBCA, CBCA and/or Court of Federal Claims involving cost accounting disputes.
  • Draft initial pleadings, discovery requests, and motions.
  • Provide advice and assistance with requests for equitable adjustment/contractor claims.
  • Advise on compliance with Truthful Cost or Pricing Data Act and represent in defective pricing investigations/claims.

Requirements

  • 3 to 4 years of direct experience handling government contract cost accounting and pricing matters.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Highly developed critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong written advocacy and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver timely and high-quality written work product in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
  • Must be a member of the D.C. Bar or eligible to waive-in.
