About the position

The Government Health Actuary Manager at Deloitte will play a crucial role in providing strategic and technical consulting services to Federal and State governments, employer groups, and other public entities. This position focuses on transforming the health care sector by addressing complex problems through innovative solutions, while also fostering professional growth and development within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Deloitte Senior Managers and Partners in providing strategic and technical consulting services to government clients.
  • Participate in the development of evidence-based medicine and social drivers of health.
  • Support the transition of payments from volume-based to value-based care.
  • Lead teams and manage client/executive relationships effectively.
  • Contribute to the Organization Transformation offering by modernizing functions and redesigning organizational structures.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of health actuarial experience and consulting or health plan/insurance company experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience with Medicaid managed care capitation rate development and/or fee-for-service rate development.
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams and managing client/executive relationships.
  • Ability to travel 25% on average based on work and client needs.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • ASA with progression to FSA, FSA, or career ASA designation.
  • 1+ years of experience providing Medicaid consulting services to Government agencies.
  • 1+ years of experience with Medicaid waivers (i.e., 1115, 1915 b/c, 1332).
  • 1+ years of experience with risk adjustment mechanisms.
  • 1+ years of experience with Provider reimbursement streams (i.e., DSH, UPL, etc).
