About the position

The Human Resources Consultant will serve as a key advisor to management on various HR-related issues, fostering partnerships within the HR department to enhance service delivery to both management and employees. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective performance management, resolving employee relations issues, and maintaining accurate HR records, all while promoting a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to employee and manager phone inquiries using multiple HR systems such as HRIS, Timekeeping, Pay Card, Employee Self Service.
  • Advise on performance management including performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Manage and resolve routine to mid-complex employee relations issues.
  • Review performance management plans and coach management staff before discussions with associates to ensure consistency and relevance.
  • Monitor, audit, and report on important metrics and responsibilities on an ongoing basis by working within HR systems.
  • Participate in planning department goals and systems.
  • Work with external entities to provide authorized employment information such as employment verification and income verification.
  • Ensure employee Human Resources files are up to date by assisting with all source documents received into the proper system.
  • Train and provide support to HR Team members, potentially functioning in a supervisor role.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or 4 years related experience.
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Excel, and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of general HR standards.
  • Ability to communicate with courtesy, provide information, and maintain relationships with a diverse group.
  • Ability to work discreetly with confidential information and respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Two (2) years of Human Resources work experience.
