About the position

The Government Sales and Business Development Manager at Brandmotion is a pivotal role focused on expanding the company's reach within the government sector, particularly in vehicle connectivity technology. This position involves developing and executing a prospecting plan to qualify leads from government agencies, managing sales cycles, and ensuring successful bid responses. The role requires strong communication and leadership skills to engage with decision-makers and build relationships that drive sales growth.

Responsibilities

  • Create a steady pipeline flow of bids from agencies, cities, and government fleets sufficient to reach short and medium-term sales targets.
  • Respond to bid inquiries on a timely basis and ensure timely response to relevant government bid requests.
  • Create quote responses and solicit input from the internal team.
  • Exhibit disciplined Hubspot CRM use to manage the sales pipeline process.
  • Establish effective teaming relationships with potential partners and attend trade shows as required.
  • Develop a wide knowledge of the vehicle safety products and upfitting industry.
  • Influence the strategic direction of the business unit and leverage a keen understanding of unique advantages and capabilities.
  • Maintain close connections to clients' business and the latest trends and news.
  • Influence the development of an effective marketing strategy in cooperation with the marketing team.
  • Develop innovative ways to market to new prospects and continually update the marketing mailing list with new contacts.
  • Engage clients and work with them to scope and estimate projects, building strong trust-based relationships.
  • Ensure completed work is on brand and achieves account goals, obsessing about details of budgets, schedules, and client interactions.
  • Ensure a thorough project transition to the project management teams once new leads are qualified.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a relevant field.
  • 3-5+ years of sales and business development experience.
  • Experience leading complex multi-dimensional bid responses.
  • Experience selling emerging communications and/or electronics technology.
  • Experience responding to federal grant opportunities.
  • Experience selling to government agencies.
  • Ability to create opportunity flow from multiple external and internal entities.
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work well with others.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet experience with Google Suite and HubSpot CRM.
  • Ability to promptly respond to fast-changing customer demands.
  • Highly resourceful and skilled in problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Strong self-starter with leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete bid responses by deadlines with quality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
