The Senior Associate position at Abdo Financial Solutions is designed for experienced accountants who are passionate about serving governmental entities. Responsibilities
- Preparing and analyzing financial data for city management, state and county regulators and auditors
- Preparing and analyzing monthly and quarterly reports
- Leading and collaborating on the preparation of the annual budget plan
- Maintaining financial data, records, and reports in accordance with guidelines, procedures, and regulations
- Leading and supporting year-end audit preparation and financial statement preparation
- Leading and collaborating on long-term planning
- Maintaining and improving existing reporting processes
- Consulting and communicating with all levels of client leadership
- Preparing journal entries and reconciliations
- Providing financial analysis on special projects and initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or equivalent work experience
- Understanding of governmental accounting or audit
- Understanding of accounting processes and policies
- 3+ years accounting/financial planning experience
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
- Familiarity with various software applications and pertinent federal and state regulations
- Collaborative spirit
