About the position
The GP Egg Room Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of GP egg handling at the Egg Distribution Center in Elkmont, AL. This includes managing the receiving, allocation, and inventory of eggs to ensure customer orders are filled accurately and efficiently. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
Responsibilities
- Verify egg counts picked up from farms and enter them into the computer system (SHAPS).
- Allocate eggs to specific customer orders.
- Perform and maintain all paperwork associated with customer orders.
- Pull together eggs for customer orders and prepare them for shipping, ensuring timely processing.
- Communicate with drivers and contract growers regarding egg pickups.
- Maintain open communications with management, hatchery personnel, and production planning.
- Responsible for maintaining correct physical inventory.
- Help maintain all employee TSA records.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; college degree or at least 2 years of college preferred.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Self-motivated with the ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to perform physically demanding aspects of the job.
- Dependable and able to perform work unsupervised.
- Detail-oriented with good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
