About the position

The Graduate, Online & Professional Studies team at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking a part-time GPS Support Specialist to provide essential support to the Undergraduate and Graduate admissions, recruitment, advising, and student services teams. This role is crucial for ensuring that the administrative tasks associated with these departments are handled efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to deliver top-tier customer service, as this position involves direct interaction with students and prospective applicants. The GPS Support Specialist will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks that include answering phones, processing paperwork related to student applications, and managing registrations for non-matriculated students. Additionally, the role involves entering transfer credit information, responding to emails, and updating and maintaining student records. The position requires a proactive approach to customer service, ensuring that all inquiries are addressed promptly and accurately. This part-time position is designed for individuals who can commit to working approximately 18 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that includes at least three shifts, one of which must extend until 5 PM. The GPS office operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and the ideal candidate should be available during these hours. This is a non-benefited, non-union position, and the initial review of applications will begin immediately, continuing until the position is filled.

Responsibilities

  • Answering phones and providing customer support.

Requirements
