About the position

The Grad Hourly (Social Media Content Creator) position at the University of Illinois Chicago involves assisting the Disability and Human Development, ADA Center in creating and managing social media content. The role focuses on promoting the Center's services and educating the public about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) through various digital platforms. The position requires collaboration with Center staff to develop engaging video content and manage social media postings effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Center's Technical Assistance Staff in developing and designing content regarding the ADA Center's services and programs for social media distribution.
  • Manage regular postings of social media content using Sprout Social media management software.
  • Monitor the performance of social media posts and collect statistical data.
  • Identify content and produce videos highlighting various aspects of the ADA for social media distribution.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Illinois Chicago.
  • Familiarity with WordPress and content management systems.
  • Experience with developing and posting on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Experience and knowledge using CANVA.
  • Experience and knowledge in creating and editing videos.
  • Knowledge of accessibility features within social media platforms.
