About the position

The Graduate Nurse Residency Program at Bristol Health is designed for newly graduated nurses to transition into professional practice. This full-time program offers a supportive environment with a focus on patient-centered care, professional growth, and leadership development. Participants will receive hands-on training with a dedicated preceptor, attend monthly seminars, and engage in shared governance committees, all aimed at enhancing nursing practices and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and practice the delivery of coordinated nursing care for an assigned group of patients.
  • Conduct nursing assessments, planning, implementation, evaluation, and transition of care.
  • Carry out routine nursing care tasks using professional judgment and behavior.
  • Supervise tasks of unlicensed personnel and coordinate patient care.
  • Learn telemetry to care for specific patient populations.
  • Participate in shared governance committees to support nursing structure.
  • Collaborate with other nurses to uncover best practices and research to enhance nursing practices.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred, but Associates Degree accepted with enrollment in BSN program within 6 months after hire.
