About the position
Cohasset Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a certified Middle School Science teaching candidate for this long-term substitute position beginning February 10, 2025, and lasting until May 9, 2025. We are searching for passionate, innovative candidates who value high student engagement, collaborative teamwork, professional growth, and demonstrate a commitment to equity and social justice. Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning using the Massachusetts Science Curriculum Framework and Open Science Education curriculum.
- Use technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Maintain a welcoming, safe, orderly and supportive classroom by teaching and establishing routines and rituals.
- Encourage, monitor, and provide feedback on the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate and complete grade books and other anecdotal records of students' academic and behavioral progress and development.
- Provide consistent communication with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
- Participate in department and school meetings and events, team meetings, and other collaborative opportunities to further student learning and school culture.
- Attend to all professional duties and responsibilities.
- Performing such other related tasks or projects as they arise and as delegated by the school principal.
