About the position

The Graduate 2024 Machine Learning Engineer I role at Uber involves contributing to the design, development, optimization, and productionization of machine learning solutions. The position is aimed at recent graduates who will work within a team to solve well-defined problems while learning to improve ML infrastructure for model development and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and productionize machine learning algorithms for multiple business problems
  • Deeply engage with product datasets to analyze them and drive product insights, further model iterations
  • Continuously innovate and apply state-of-the-art ML algorithms at Uber Scale

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience in an engineering related bootcamp
  • Must have a graduation date in 2023 or 2024
  • Working knowledge of contemporary machine learning and deep learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX)
  • If selected, must be willing to start the role in 2024

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Multimodal Classification (Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision)
  • Experience building reusable embeddings, applications and fine tuning of large language models
  • Deep understanding of all aspects of machine learning model lifecycles (from prototypes, feature engineering, training, inference, deployment, monitoring)
  • Proficient experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Go, C/C++, Python, Ruby, etc.
  • Strong statistical and experimental foundation and acumen to develop insights from data

Benefits

  • Base salary range of USD$140,000 - USD$147,000 per year
