About the position

The Hardware Applications Engineer Graduate position at Arm is designed for highly engaged and self-motivated individuals with a background in CPU architecture and design. The role involves providing enterprise-grade technical support to customers implementing Arm IP in various products, developing positive relationships, and contributing to product enhancements. The engineer will build testbenches, debug simulation waveforms, lead customer training sessions, and collaborate with sales and FAE teams to advocate for customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Build testbenches and software to reproduce customer issues and debug simulation waveforms.
  • Solve issues down to the RTL level in the CPU domain and understand ecosystem implications.
  • Develop and lead customer training sessions, engaging in technical presentations and brainstorming sessions.
  • Help improve internal and customer-facing flows and practices.
  • Contribute to product documentation and create application notes.
  • Collaborate with Sales and FAE teams for pre-sales support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Interest in and understanding of CPU architecture.
  • Strong RTL and simulation debugging skills using EDA tools (Cadence, Siemens, Synopsys).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel to Arm and customer sites (approximately 10%).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with root cause analysis of customer design issues (RTL/specification).
  • Experience with non-CPU components such as interconnects and memory subsystems.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (C, Assembly, Perl, Python).
