About the position

The Graduate Assistant for the Asia Pacific Museum Exchange Project Coordinator role is a part-time temporary position at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the coordination and management of various projects related to the Asia Pacific Museum Exchange, ensuring timely completion and effective communication among stakeholders. The position involves working closely with the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) staff to facilitate workshops, manage logistics, and develop promotional materials.

Responsibilities

  • Create timelines and oversee workflow to ensure on-time completion of multiple ongoing projects.
  • Work with the CSEAS Associate Director and staff to build an email list and assist with running virtual workshops on Zoom.
  • Develop publicity and communications materials and a webpage to promote the program.
  • Assist with backward planning of face-to-face workshops in July 2025, including logistics and communication with trainers and participants.
  • Plan face-to-face and virtual workshops, confirming speakers and arranging transportation, lodging, and meals.
  • Manage invoices and process documents in collaboration with the CSEAS Associate Director and fiscal specialist.

Requirements

  • Classified, full-time UHM graduate student status with an MA in art/humanities/social sciences, education, education technology, or Museum Studies.
  • Competency in using Mac operating system and software applications for Mac Office.
  • Competency in using WordPress or Wix (or similar publishing platform).
  • Excellent written English skills.
  • Competency in database and spreadsheet management.
  • Previous experience with social media.
  • Professional work experience requiring attention to detail and the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing Zoom webinars.
  • Experience designing and developing web-based learning activities, including editing video and audio web content.
  • Previous museum-related experience (curation, collections, or other) or adjacent public engagement activities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Professional, Adobe Creative, and Google Workspace applications.
  • Knowledge of ADA compliance regulations.
