About the position
The Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer shall be a Graduate Student enrolled at Waynesburg University who assists with the supervision and coordination of the University's overall athletic training program. This includes, but is not limited to, injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries, short-term and long-term rehabilitation of athletic injuries, education and counseling of student-athletes, and athletics related health care administration in consultation with and under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, Assistant Athletic Trainer, Team Physician(s), and other qualified medical personnel.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the supervision and coordination of the athletic training program.
- Injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries.
- Short-term and long-term rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
- Education and counseling of student-athletes.
- Athletics related health care administration.
Requirements
- Must be a Graduate Student enrolled at Waynesburg University.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work evenings, Sundays, and weekends.
- Must possess or be eligible for certification by the NATA-BOC.
- Must possess or be eligible for Athletic Training Licensure in the state of PA.
