The Graduate Assistant - Data Visualization Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the university's institutional research efforts. This position involves creating and designing clear, effective visual representations of data using various tools and software, such as Power BI or Microsoft Excel, to help communicate insights and findings. The analyst will analyze and interpret data sets, identify trends, and generate actionable insights to support university objectives. Additionally, the role includes developing and maintaining detailed reports and dashboards that convey data-driven insights, ensuring they are accessible and understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Graduate Assistant will assist in the collection, cleaning, and organization of data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency in visualizations. Collaboration with faculty, researchers, or team members is essential to understand their data needs, provide support in developing visual content, and incorporate feedback to refine visualizations. Other duties and projects may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Create and design clear, effective visual representations of data using various tools and software, such as Power BI or Microsoft Excel.
  • Analyze and interpret data sets, identify trends, and generate actionable insights to support University objectives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed reports and dashboards that convey data-driven insights, ensuring they are accessible and understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Assist in the collection, cleaning, and organization of data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency in visualizations.
  • Work closely with faculty, researchers, or team members to understand their data needs, provide support in developing visual content, and incorporate feedback to refine visualizations.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Previous experience in Power BI is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in higher education is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required; experience with databases is a plus.
  • Maintain full time status in an eligible Carroll University graduate program is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Customer service experience is strongly preferred.

Benefits
