About the position

Waynesburg University Department of Athletics is seeking a graduate student to assist staff and coaches with the day-to-day operations of the department, specifically assigned to Men's & Women's Wrestling. Position entails working 19 hours a week in the Athletic Department. The graduate assistant will report to the Head Men's & Women's Wrestling Coaches and Director of Athletics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the direction of assigned athletic teams
• Assist in the organization of practice sessions
• Work in accordance with all staff members of the Athletics Department and Waynesburg University
• Represent Waynesburg University Athletic Department in a positive manner
• Recruit qualified student athletes to participate in the athletic program, as directed by the Head Men's & Women's Wrestling Coaches
• Assist in the preparation of game and practice sites
• Possess the ability to communicate the mission of the University and the goals of the Athletic Department to student-athletes
• Serve as site administrator for home athletic events out of season
• Comply with all rules affiliated with Waynesburg University, the Presidents' Athletic Conference, and Division III of the NCAA
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head Men's & Women's Wrestling Coaches and/or Director of Athletics

Requirements

• Must successfully enroll in a graduate program at Waynesburg University
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Adobe Professional, Front Rush, Slate, etc.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to meet established work deadlines
• Availability to work evenings, Sundays and occasional weekends
