About the position

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Land Development group in Bentonville, Arkansas. This position is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those with limited experience in civil engineering, particularly in land and site development. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of experienced professionals, contributing to the planning and design of various land development projects. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), the Graduate Civil Engineer will assist in the execution of design tasks, ensuring compliance with local codes and design criteria. This role is ideal for a self-starter who is eager to learn and grow within the field of civil engineering. As part of the Land Development team, the Graduate Civil Engineer will engage in a variety of projects that may include residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The position requires a strong foundation in civil engineering principles, as well as technical skills in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD). The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and be prepared to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within six months of employment. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and design of land and site development projects.
  • Work as part of a design team under the direct supervision of a PE.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes and design criteria.
  • Utilize CADD software for technical design tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop innovative solutions for land development challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • 0-3 years of experience in land/site development.
  • Passed the FE exam or able to pass the FE exam within 6 months.
  • Technical experience with CADD.
  • Knowledge of local codes and design criteria.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D.
