About the position

Halff Associates Inc. is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer for their Fort Worth, TX office. This role is designed for recent graduates who are eager to contribute to various public works and land development projects. The successful candidate will assist in studies, design, and reviews for a range of construction and mapping projects, including airports, bridges, channels, dams, drainage systems, floodplains, and public and private infrastructure. As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will be involved in drafting reports and presenting plans to diverse audiences, translating complex engineering concepts into understandable terms. You will utilize design software and tools to accurately render and communicate study results and designs, while also estimating materials, equipment, and labor for construction cost assessments. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, be detail-oriented, and have excellent communication abilities, making them a valuable team member in tackling engineering challenges. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a talented design team on public works and land/site development projects.
  • Use design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate study results and designs.
  • Draft reports and present plans to audiences with a wide range of backgrounds and technical knowledge.
  • Estimate materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine an estimate of probable construction costs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
  • 0-3 years of experience in Public Works or Land Development.
  • Passed the FE exam or able to pass within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
  • Knowledge of the materials, methods, and equipment involved in the construction or repair of civil engineering related improvements.
  • Technical experience in computer-assisted design (CAD), AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design, modeling, data recording, and analyzation related software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar productivity software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.
