About the position

The Graduate Civil Engineer position at Pennoni involves assisting in multi-discipline designs for site development projects, both public and private. The role supports Staff and Project-level Engineers in various project aspects, including conceptual planning, preliminary and detailed design, construction documentation, permitting, and engineering reports. This position is ideal for recent graduates looking to start their careers in civil engineering within a dynamic and innovative consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform site design work including site layout, grading, and utilities-oriented tasks.
• Conduct site evaluations for land development feasibility.
• Review local municipal ordinances and county & state regulations.
• Assist the design team in preparing plans for permitting and construction.
• Perform design quantity take-offs and develop opinions of construction costs/estimates.
• Prepare permit applications.
• Prepare engineering reports to demonstrate compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (e.g., Construction Engineering, Environmental Engineering).

Nice-to-haves

• FE / EIT certification.
• Experience working on greenfield/land development and/or water resource engineering projects.
• Experience with stormwater management design calculations and H&H modeling tools.
• Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g., CADD, project management software).
• Exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bluebeam Revu.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a challenging environment.
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
