We are currently seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our team in Cape May Court House, NJ. This full-time position will involve contributing to multi-discipline site design projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in various public and private site development projects, supporting both Staff and Project-level Engineers throughout all project phases, including conceptual planning, preliminary design, detailed development, construction documentation, permitting documentation, and engineering reports. The role will focus on Site Design (Land Development) or Municipal Engineering projects, depending on the alignment of the candidate's skills with our organizational needs. The Graduate Civil Engineer will perform site design work, which encompasses site layout, grading, utilities tasks (such as water and sanitary sewer systems), and public street design. Additionally, the engineer will conduct site evaluations for land development feasibility, assist with stormwater management, review local municipal ordinances, and help prepare plans for permitting and construction. Attendance at evening municipal meetings may also be required, along with other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site design work including site layout, grading, utilities-oriented tasks, and public street design.
  • Conduct site evaluations for land development feasibility.
  • Assist with stormwater management, including designing stormwater piping systems and implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs).
  • Review local municipal ordinances and county & state regulations.
  • Assist the design team in preparing plans for permitting and construction, including permit applications.
  • Prepare engineering reports to demonstrate compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Attend evening municipal meetings.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • FE / EIT certification is preferred.
  • Experience with greenfield/land development and/or infrastructure design projects is a plus.
  • Proficiency with engineering CADD software, especially AutoCAD Civil 3D, is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work in a dynamic environment on various projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working on greenfield/land development and/or infrastructure design projects.
  • Proficiency with engineering CADD software, especially AutoCAD Civil 3D.
