The Desk Operations/Conduct Coordinator is a Graduate Assistant position at the University of Kentucky, primarily focused on ensuring the safety and smooth operation of campus residence halls. This role involves collaboration with Senior Staff and Resident Advisors to support two key areas: Desk Operations and Student Conduct. In Desk Operations, the Coordinator will assist with the recruitment, hiring, training, and scheduling of student night desk clerks, ensuring that the front desk operations run efficiently throughout the academic year. This includes interviewing potential candidates, coordinating training sessions, and managing the online roster of desk clerks. The Coordinator will also be responsible for identifying and addressing any disciplinary or performance issues in collaboration with Resident Directors. In the area of Student Conduct, the Coordinator will serve as a hearing officer for student conduct cases, employing a restorative approach to facilitate discussions and resolutions. This role also includes conducting outreach meetings with students who may need additional support, as well as facilitating educational programs aimed at risk and harm reduction as part of the CATS Engagement residential curriculum. The position requires a commitment to the mission and philosophy of Residence Life, emphasizing the development of a supportive residential living and learning experience for students. The Desk Operations/Conduct Coordinator will report directly to the Assistant Director for Personnel and Business Operations and is expected to maintain a professional demeanor while serving as a role model for residents. The position is part-time, requiring approximately 20 hours of work per week, scheduled Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM. The employment agreement is for a single academic year, with the possibility of reappointment based on performance and job availability. Candidates must be full-time graduate students at the University of Kentucky and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 throughout their employment.
