About the position

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to design power distribution systems, lighting controls, fire alarm systems, and grounding and lightning protection systems. You will conduct short circuit and overcurrent protection coordination, load and arc flash studies, and perform lighting photometric calculations. Your role will also involve circuitry for power and lighting devices, technical report writing, and modeling electrical systems in 3D using Revit. You will contribute to the development of reports and electrical calculations while collaborating with other disciplines and vendors to expand your knowledge on new subjects. Participation in meetings is essential, where you will listen, ask questions, and engage in discussions with other disciplines and architects to gain valuable experience. Responsibilities

  • Design power distribution systems, lighting controls, fire alarm systems, and grounding and lightning protection systems.
  • Conduct short circuit and overcurrent protection coordination, load and arc flash studies.
  • Perform lighting photometric calculations.
  • Develop circuitry for power and lighting devices.
  • Write technical reports and contribute to the development of electrical calculations.
  • Model electrical systems in 3D using Revit.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and vendors to gain knowledge on new subjects.
  • Attend meetings, listen, ask questions, and engage in discussions with other disciplines and architects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or similar degree, or a Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering (BSAE).
  • Demonstrated interest in the electrical engineering industry.
  • Skills in planning and organizing.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas in an accessible way, both in person and in writing.
  • Independent initiative, creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, and dedication to teamwork.
  • Effective prioritization and exceptional organizational skills in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based work.
  • Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Coursework in building systems design, electrical power systems design, control systems, electric machines, and codes and standards.
  • Internship or work experience in the industry.
  • Experience with electrical testing.
  • Interest in sustainability as evidenced by extracurricular activities.
  • Academic research or experience with alternative energy systems and new technologies in the construction industry.
  • Experience with Revit, AGI 32, SKM Power Tools, ETAP.
  • Coding skills in C# and/or Python with an interest in design automation.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through professional accomplishments or honor societies.
