We are currently seeking a full-time, exempt Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our team. This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the field of electrical engineering. As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will be involved in the design of power, lighting, and signal systems for a variety of commercial projects, including schools, retail spaces, industrial facilities, municipal buildings, healthcare environments, and more. In this role, you will work closely with Professional Engineers, Engineers-in-Training, and Designers to develop the technical skills necessary for the design process. You will gain hands-on experience performing photometric analyses of lighting systems and using power analysis software to calculate voltage drop, short circuit currents, and arc flash boundaries. Additionally, you will learn about the business and client side of projects, preparing you to eventually manage the full scope of electrical engineering projects. Your responsibilities will include selecting lighting fixtures and control systems that comply with energy codes, designing electrical distribution systems from the utility source to customer panelboards, assisting in cost estimates and specification preparation, and performing studies and reports on arc flash, coordination, equipment assessments, and energy efficiency improvements. You will also conduct site visits to document existing electrical installations and ensure that installations meet contract documents. Coordination and attendance at meetings with clients, consultants, owners, and internal staff members will be an essential part of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Select lighting fixtures and lighting control systems to comply with energy codes.
  • Design electrical distribution systems from the utility source to customer panelboards, receptacles, and equipment loads.
  • Assist in cost estimate and specification preparation.
  • Perform studies and reports on arc flash, coordination, equipment assessments, and energy efficiency improvements.
  • Perform photometric analysis of lighting systems.
  • Use power analysis software to calculate voltage drop, short circuit currents, and arc flash boundaries.
  • Perform site visits to document existing electrical installations and identify impacts for proposed renovations.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings with clients, consultants, owners, and internal staff members on projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Engineer in Training certification or the ability to receive it within one year.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Knowledge or experience with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, AGI-32, and SKM Power.
