About the position

The Graduate Engineer- Electrical position at WGI is an entry-level role designed for recent graduates with 0-2 years of experience. The role involves working within the MEP Engineering team in Austin, TX, focusing on the design of electrical systems for various projects, including multifamily, commercial, and high-rise buildings. The position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and career growth within a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the production of quality engineering construction documents in Revit from architectural plans and base files.
• Design electrical systems including equipment sizing, energy lighting calculations, and circuit diagrams under limited supervision.
• Perform calculations such as electrical load analysis, lighting energy use, voltage drop, and fault analysis.
• Review submittals and conduct preliminary reviews of requests for information.
• Conduct preliminary site investigations and construction progress site visits independently.
• Maintain working relationships with manufacturers and technical representatives for electrical equipment.
• Participate in internal production meetings and external design meetings with clients or city officials.
• Contribute to the development of automation and visualization strategies.
• Inform Project Engineers, Team Leaders, and Project Managers of progress on assigned projects.
• Attend industry events and engage with the community.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) license obtained within the first year in the role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in new building mechanical engineering construction.
• Experience in Revit.
