About The Position

GHD is seeking an Entry Level Environmental Engineer or Scientist to join our EHS Compliance team in Houston, TX. This role involves providing environmental consulting services to clients in the MidCon region, focusing on environmental due diligence and compliance. The position offers opportunities for professional growth through training and development programs, while working collaboratively with a high-performing team to tackle significant environmental challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • 0 to 2+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Some knowledge of environmental regulations affecting industry (preferred but not required).
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS applications.
  • Ability to perform field work and travel overnight.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and hard-working.
  • Strong written and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to excel in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations affecting industry (preferred but not required).
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and/or support technical projects related to environmental due diligence and compliance.
  • Project coordination for Corporate Waste Programs.
  • Permit application development for air emissions, storm water discharges, and wastewater discharges.
  • Develop and update environmental plans such as SPCC Plans, SWPPPs, and HWCPs.
  • Conduct environmental compliance reporting including air emissions and hazardous waste generator reporting.
  • Perform facility and site visits to gather information for written project work.
  • Write technical reports and support the development of client proposals.
  • Engage with various industrial clients and assist in proposal development.
  • Comprehend and interpret environmental regulations and guidelines.
  • Develop working relationships and communicate effectively with supervisors, project directors, and clients.
