About the position
The Environmental Engineer, Geologist & Scientist position at GHD is designed for recent graduates looking to develop their professional skills within the Contamination Assessment & Remediation service line. This role involves both field and office work, providing a comprehensive experience in environmental engineering and science, with a focus on sustainable practices and community impact.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field work including sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil gas, and indoor air.
- Perform aquifer testing and oversee the closure of underground storage tanks.
- Coordinate and oversee remedial actions and geophysical testing.
- Compile, review, and interpret sampling data in the office.
- Prepare sections of reports and proposals, and summarize data in tables and figures.
- Coordinate with subcontractors for project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or Hydrogeology.
- 0-3 years of experience in contaminated site assessment and remediation projects.
- Ability to travel and perform field work.
- Experience with modeling and statistical software is a plus.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is also a plus.
