About the position
The Graduate Nurse Rotational Program (GNRP) at UPMC Horizon is designed for Spring 2025 nursing graduates seeking to launch their nursing careers. Participants will rotate through various medical-surgical units, gaining diverse experience while being mentored by experienced nurses. This full-time program aims to provide a comprehensive education in nursing, allowing graduates to explore different specialties within the hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide highly competent patient care and treatment while demonstrating empathy and a passion for learning.
- Establish relationships with physicians, other care providers, patients, and families to achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Set standards for the level and quality of nursing care, possessing authority and accountability for its provision.
- Work collaboratively with the care delivery team to ensure effective patient care.
Requirements
- Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse required prior to program start date OR must have a Temporary Practice Permit and commit to taking the NCLEX examination within 4 months of hire.
- Completion of UPMC Student Nurse Internship Program or student clinical transitions course at UPMC preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for patients of various ages.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities related to patient care.
- Good clinical judgment and ability to handle multiple/changing priorities.
Nice-to-haves
- BSN preferred.
- Experience in a clinical setting through internships or student programs.
